内容简介 Synopsis

本书试图从汉字的特点出发，对中国书籍的历史脉络进行梳理，对比材质的变迁，介绍制作技术的演进，展示装帧形式的差异。中国的书籍不只是油墨味十足的彩印封面和扉页。它有着壮丽的起源、丰富的内容、多样的形式、精美的装帧、复杂的工艺。而关于这一切，正是作为中国人，作为一直以白纸黑字为最高审美的民族最不该遗忘的。

This book attempts to start from the characteristics of Chinese characters, sort out the historical context of Chinese books, compare the changes in materials, introduce the evolution of production technology, and show the differences in binding forms. Chinese books are not just ink-scented color-printed covers and title pages. It has a magnificent origin, rich content, diverse forms, exquisite binding, and complex craftsmanship. As for all this, as a Chinese, as a nation that has always adopted white paper and not be forgotten.

作者简介 About the Author

李英，研究馆员，中国印刷博物馆社会服务部主任，中国印刷史研究会秘书长，北京印刷学院兼职教授、研究生导师，中国科普作家协会会员。曾参与《中国大百科全书》第三版“印刷史”词条编写工作。

专著《中国彩印二千年》获得第三届中华优秀出版物奖提名奖，入选国家新闻出版广电总局2015年度国家科技进步奖参评项目，于2019年“中国图书对外推广计划”立项，版权输出，由设计媒体出版（英国）有限公司出版英文版。著作《中华印刷典故》（合著）被评为 “首届向全国推荐中华优秀传统文化普及图书”（2015）、 “全国优秀科普作品”（2015）。曾编写“天工开物——中国四大发明”书系之《印刷术》。该书系入选“‘十三五’国家重点图书出版规划”，大象出版社出版。

Li Ying, Research librarian, director of the Social Service Department of China Printing Museum, secretary general of China Printing History Research Association, part-time professor and postgraduate tutor of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, member of China Science Writers Association. Participated in the compilation of the "History of Printing" entry in the third edition of "Encyclopedia of China".

The monograph "Two Thousand Years of Color Printing in China" won the 3rd China Outstanding Publication Award Nomination Award, and was selected as the 2015 National Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. The English version is published by Design Media Publishing (UK) Ltd. The book Chinese Printing Allusions (co-authored) was rated as the first popularization of Chinese excellent traditional culture books recommended to the whole country (2015) and National Excellent Popular Science Works (2015). He once wrote "Printing" in the book series Heavenly Creations-China's Great Inventions". The book was selected into the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for National Key Book Publishing" and was published by Daxiang Publishing House.
